This EP is a collection of what I call "Instrumental Portraits". I can't paint so I think about a person, their traits and my interactions with them and write an instrumental song from there. When recording I usually go with only first takes and leave imperfections on display for all. The songs on "To the Dunes" are Instrumental Portraits of the first 6 people that got the full album "Ashby".
